My name is Stephane. I am a 33 years old computer programmer with 13 years of experience. To this point, I’ve managed to work as a Lotus Notes administrator, SMS (Microsoft System Management Server) administrator, website developper (mainly using PHP) and I have been running several web servers for the last decade.

Over the last few years, I’ve put up a website about music just for the sake of it. My website is located at http://www.homemusician.net . I just did that as a hobby as I am an amateur musician. Over time, I’ve decided to put some banners on the site. I quickly made some beer money but it didn’t last long. That was around 2002 (the website was called eMusicmag.com back then). At that time, advertisers were still willing to pay big bucks for impressions of their ads. That market was dying at that point though. It was soon after that advertisers began to pay publishers based on clicks their ads received. My profits dropped so low I didn’t care about it anymore.

Back in January 2007, I stumbled upon some Get-Rich-Quick eBooks. Now while I don’t endorse any eBooks (99% of them are total crap), I knew that there was something behind all of this. There had to be some way of monetizing my website more efficiently. I then decided to re-design HomeMusician.net. Guess what? My income got five times higher than it ever got. That was only over a 3 months period. I got about 3 times the traffic and doubled my CTR.

To this day, I’ve decided I was going to make a living online through affiliate marketing. Why not? I’ve found some great sources of information over time. I’m still having an information overdose actually. So much to do, too little time. Still got a lot of work to do but it’s not that bad considering I’ve been at it for only a few months.

I’ve decided to put up this website to help other people start in this business. Whether you are simply looking for an additional income or to make a full-time job out of it, I hope you will benefit from my experience. I do not believe in getting rich overnight. I believe in true original content. In the end, it all comes to the user’s experience.
