While GoDaddy has an automated script installer, the latest Wordpress version available is 2.3.3. So instead of using the installer, I’ll install Wordpress 2.5 from scratch.

To upload Wordpress, I use Filezilla, a free FTP client.

Note that the username and password information used for FTP is those entered when setting the website.

I’ve just upgraded TheWebmastersCafe.net from Wordpress 2.1 to version 2.5 and well let’s say, things didn’t went as smooth as I would’ve liked to. A lot of my plugins were outdated and the theme didn’t work well so I decided to change it.

The current Wordpress theme is the Blog Pixel Blue Edition SEO’ed by CourtneyTuttle. I’ve done a few changes in order to display ads in the right column.

That said, I’m gonna begin the Make Money Online Case Study this monday. I’m really excited to see how this project turns out!

Lately I wanted to embed a Flash video in a blog post. Unfortunately, the Wordpress editor seems to break the HTML code unless you disable the visual editor.

So for those who want to add Flash animations to their post, here’s how to do it:

1. Download the Kimili Flash Embed plugin for Wordpress.

2. Upload your Flash file (.SWF) manually to your web server using an FTP client like Filezilla.

3. Insert the following code in your post:

[kml_flashembed movie="http://yourdomain.com/pathto/video.swf" height="250" width="400" /].

Of course you can set the dimension to whatever suits your needs. And while the full URL to your SWF file isn’t necessary, it’s better to include it otherwise people who read your posts through an RSS reader won’t be able to see your Flash movie.
